One of the main draws of Ireland is its unspoilt beauty.  much of this island remains  rural and turned over towards the pursuit of farming.  This can be either potatoes, vegetables , sheep or corn.   Ireland is still a relatively new country,  it has only just reached its centenary year away from the British crown.  Its relationship with Britain has been interesting, to say the least.  Due to the diaspora, where so many of its people left to seek new lives in the new world, Ireland retains great links with Australia, North America and South Africa.  This desire to return back to the old country is still very prevalent today.

Located to the west of the country is some of its most beautiful scenery.  Three hardy rugged Islands known as the Aran Islands sit at the end of Galway Bay.  These three Islands have been the home for millennia to many Irish people.   The people of Aran have a very specific culture about who they are as a people and what they wear is very distinctive.

One of their greatest contributions to the world is that of the mens aran sweater. Like those available from https://www.shamrockgift.com/aran-sweaters/mens-aran-sweaters/ These sweaters represent a specific cultural look as well as a practical and stylish one.  They were created for the fisherman of  Aran who would brave the stormy Atlantic to gain a catch to feed family and friends.  The sweaters are both warming and water  resistant.
