Roleros of the world, rejoice: D & D announces a digital client for your character chips
Wizards of the Coast is preparing for pencil and paper to stop being the absolute stars of your Dungeons & Dragons role-playing games. The company presented a few hours ago its new “Digital Toolset”, a set of digital tools called “D & D Beyond”, which has been designed to be used with the fifth edition of the popular RPG.
The official launch of this application will be in summer, and as a result of what little they have taught, it seems to be an application with web and mobile clients designed so that you can easily search the rules of the game and keep your character updated while you are playing . Come on, you will no longer need to download PDF files or use third-party clients.
“D & D Beyond talks about the way players are able to combine digital tools with the fun of telling stories around the table with your friends,” says Nathan Stewart, Senior Director of Dungeons & Dragons, in the official announcement. “These tools represent a way forward for D & D, and we are very happy to be able to put them very soon in the hands of the players.”
As indicated on the official website , it is a compendium of D & D with official content, where you can create, explore and use your own content. You can also manage your characters by creating them, making them progress and playing with them , all while accessing official D & D news, articles and forums.
To create this official client Wizards of the Coast has partnered with Curse, a company owned by Twitch specializing in the creation of game management tools. The goal is to create an official client to access “from anywhere, at any time and with any device.” If you are interested you can already sign up for the beta at dndbeyond.
