Summer holidays this year are seemingly better spent in the UK – with countries moving to various lists at short notice, travel restrictions still in place and the need to quarantine if you test positive for Covid-19, a staycation is for many people a much lower risk holiday choice!

If you usually go abroad and are unsure of where to holiday in the UK, Kent is one of the most beautiful counties in England and has plenty for everyone, young and old, to enjoy on holiday.

When it comes to a traditional seaside holiday, complete with buckets and spades and sandcastles. Fish and chips by the beach and amusement arcades, head to Margate – there are lots of local things to do in Margate come rain or shine so you will not be bored!

If you are after a slower pace of life and want to take in the stunning countryside that earns Kent the name ‘the garden of England’ then there are plenty of places to go to – walk along the White Cliffs of Dover, one of the UKs most iconic natural landmarks with beautiful views out to sea and walk the countryside of the North Downs.

To see some truly impressive buildings, Canterbury is a great place to go. This ancient city is home to the famous Cathedral, and you could also head to Scotney castle where you can not only enjoy looking around the castle itself but also the amazing grounds.
